CNet Training has further strengthened its support for UTC Heathrow’s Digital Futures Programme by donating its globally recognised Network Infrastructure Fundamentals (NIF®) program for inclusion in the curriculum.
This is the second education program that CNet has gifted to UTC Heathrow, following the donation of its Data Centre Fundamentals program in August of this year.
The NIF® program will provide students with a broad understanding of the principles of communications systems, an understanding of voice and data communications technologies, and how to relate that information to the complexity of the physical network required. The program explores the physical infrastructure components that combine to create the pathways, containment systems and network cabling infrastructure.
Successful completion of the program will also add to the students’ credentials by providing official CNet certification and a digital badge.
Launched in November 2021 at UTC Heathrow, the Digital Futures Programme is supported by industry partners Ark Data Centres, Amazon Web Services (AWS), CBRE, CNet Training, CyrusOne, Kao Data, LMG, Soben, Virtus Data Centres and Yondr, with the objective of introducing new talent into the digital infrastructure industry, allied to the sector experiencing a critical skills shortage.
Now in its second academic year, the initiative won the ‘Education and Employment Project Award 2022’ at the prestigious digital infrastructure focused Global Datacloud Awards in Monaco.
