The award seeks to recognise the efforts of a company or initiative that is getting more people successfully involved in the data centre industry. UTC Heathrow and Partners are united with the common aim of encouraging talent recruitment and development, raising awareness of opportunities within the digital infrastructure industry and establishing a clear career pathway for young people. Outright success in its first academic year has established proof of concept to be replicated across the UK, with three more UTCs dedicated to the data centre sector opening over the next three academic years, the first of these opening later in 2023.
UTC Heathrow and Partners won the Education and Employment Project Award in DataCloud Global’s 2022 awards ceremony in April last year, also held in Monaco. The ten partners are: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Ark Data Centres, CBRE, CNet Training, CyrusOne, Kao Data, LMG (lmgiq.com), Soben, VIRTUS Data Centres and Yondr Group.
