CNet Training Instructor Karl Brown spent an enjoyable evening visiting the 2417 (Newmarket) Squadron Air Cadets earlier this week. Karl was invited to speak to the cadets to share some experiences from his 23 years serving in The Royal Corps of Signals and subsequently resettling into a civilian career.
While serving, Karl held responsibility for the continuous personal development of the junior tradespeople within the Royal Signals Communications Engineer trade group, enabling their progression from engineers to team leaders. He now teaches technical education programs for the digital infrastructure industry from across CNet’s Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework. Karl is passionate about individual progression through training and education, and was delighted to be invited to the squadron.
Karl talked about his many deployments, including to Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo, and explained career opportunities across all the forces and beyond. He answered lots of questions from the cadets, including giving some useful uniform advice! The cadets absolutely loved listening to his life story and experiences.
Thank you to Flt Lt Peter Norton and all the staff at 2417 (Newmarket Squadron) Air Cadets for organising this event and for making Karl feel so welcome.
