The Rt Hon. the Lord Baker of Dorking CH has invited CNet Training’s President & CEO Andrew Stevens and seven other founding industry partners of the UTC Heathrow Digital Futures Programme, for a celebratory lunch at the House of Lords on Monday.
They will also be joined by Joanne Harper and Mike Halliday, from Activate Learning Education Trust – a Multi-Academy Trust that transforms lives through learning by providing exciting and innovative education for young people by looking at how we learn, as well as what we learn. Both Joanne and Mike provide ongoing leadership at UTC Heathrow.
Lord Baker holds a long-standing interest in the digital infrastructure industry, having visited a data centre operator with Andrew Stevens back in 2017 to originally explore engagement with UTCs.
The Digital Futures Programme was launched at UTC Heathrow last year. It is a highly specialised curriculum designed to give young people the best possible start to long-term, fulfilling careers within the digital infrastructure industry. UTC Heathrow is the very first UTC dedicated to the digital infrastructure industry.
The Digital Futures Programme was recently awarded ‘Education and Employment Project 2022’ at the prestigious technology focused Global Datacloud Awards, which recognised the unique efforts of the industry partners in taking a collaborative and innovative approach to addressing the skills shortage in their industry.
The founding partners are Ark Data Centres, Amazon Web Services (AWS), CBRE, CyrusOne, LMG, VIRTUS Data Centres and Yondr Group.
