CNet Training’s President and CEO Andrew Stevens has won The Inspiration Award at the prestigious Network Computing Awards 2020.
The Inspiration Award, which is voted for by professionals throughout the industry recognizes an individual for their commitment and passion for making change and having an impact across the digital infrastructure industry.
With over 32 years’ experience working in the data center and network infrastructure sectors, this award recognizes Andrew’s on-going determination and drive to leave a legacy and to put the digital infrastructure industry on the map and to make it a more inclusive place for everyone.
Andrew wants to provide everyone, from all walks of the life, the tools to enhance their careers, whether that is within his team, people who take part in CNet’s technical education programs or anyone he has close relations to. He always wants to find ways to inspire others and to help them excel, grow and give them new opportunities.
This achievement highlights a selection of Andrew’s accomplishments at CNet Training including the legacy associated with working with the ODA Employment & Skills Team for the 2012 Olympic Delivery Authority, educating unemployed individuals with the Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI®) certification and, as a result, providing certified network cable installers to the Olympic project. Today the CNCI® certification has been adopted by the industry as the standard certification for network cable installers. Andrew also worked to develop the Network Cable Installer (NCI®) apprenticeship, the first government-funded apprenticeship for the Network Cable Industry across England and Wales which launched in 2019. Alongside this, Andrew has been a Trustee of the Edge Foundation for over 5 years, helping to raise the status of technical, practical and vocational learning via UTC’s and Career Colleges as well as speaking about the importance education and training and ways into the industry at many colleges, schools and industry events.
Andrew has always been an active member of numerous industry trade bodies including the AFCOM, TIA, Uptime Institute, Green Grid, BCS and DCA. He created The Global Digital Education Framework and has been instrumental in the development of the only truly mapped qualifications and certifications for the data center industry.
Andrew is passionate about education throughout the digital infrastructure industry, this award recognizes all his hard work and the CNet Training team is delighted to celebrate this award with him.
